CAESAREA
HALF DAY TOUR
In the footsteps of the Romans, early Christianity and the Crusaders
On this tour you will get to know Caesarea in detail. This ancient coastal city, located directly on the Mediterranean Sea, already existed in Phoenician times, but was only expanded to an impressive port city under King Herod the Great and named Caesarea in honor of his patron, Emperor Augustus of Rome.

Here in Caesarea, we will discover also numerous traces of early Christianity: Apostle Paul was imprisoned here, Pontius Pilate resided here and the Roman centurion Cornelius was baptized here by the Apostle Peter.
We will visit the former well-planned Roman city with its impressive Theater, Herod's palace, the Hippodrome (stadium for horse races), bathhouses, impressive remains of mosaics, the once largest artificial harbor of the world, the Harbor of Sebastos and the former Crusader city with its impressive city walls.
